COSMIC CLOUD PLATTER
Product Details
This striking 11 ¼” diameter platter showcases a gloss black lacquer foundation topped with shimmering iridescent acrylic paint, expertly applied with a low-pressure air gun for a mesmerizing, color-shifting effect. Crafted from cherry wood by local artist Ray Taylor, each piece captures light in unexpected ways, making it as fun to display as it is to use. A conversation starter that brings artistic flair to any table.
Ray Taylor has been a woodworker for most of his life, creating finely crafted, functional pieces that balance precision with artistry. Since moving to Bentonville in 2005, he has continued to refine his craft through study with master woodworkers and woodturners, constantly exploring new materials and techniques. In addition to maintaining an active studio practice, Ray teaches woodworking at Northwest Arkansas Community College and the Eureka Springs School of the Arts. His current collection of platters reflects a shift from traditional utility toward expressive form—an exploration of color, texture, and pattern that engages both the eye and the hand.
